Therapy ideas developed by services/organisations

During this time of reduced access to face to face therapy contact, many NHS services and private organisations are offering online resources to enable people to continue to participate in useful therapeutic activities.  The following are a selection of resources which you may find useful.
  • my therappy is an NHS information database that contains recommended Apps to support your physical and mental health.  There is even a page for Apps relevant to people with Stroke and brain injury
  • This booklet, on redeveloping skills after brain injury, produced by Headway, has helpful advice about setting up activity programmes for people following a brain injury.
  • Bridges Self Management produced resources to support people who are living with stroke acquired brain injury and other neurological conditions.
  • Krysalis Consultancy provides occupational therapy to people with neurological conditions nationwide. They have put together activity resources for people to complete at home.
  • eye-search - offers free resource to support people experiencing difficulty following hemianopia or spatial inattention
  • Aphasia Friendly provides resources developed by SLTs for use with people with dysphasia. Includes visual images to help explain Covid-19, goal setting, apps
  • read-right exercises to support people with alexia secondary to hemianopia

Many local Headway groups and branches are now offering digital services so that people with brain injury are still able to participate in regular activity. See your local Headway group website for further information.
